The entire piloting maneuver is conducted within an estimated duration of 45 minutes. The harbour’s approach allows vessels with a maximum draft of 11 meters, ensuring no separate docking pilot is required for the maneuver. The call sign for pilotage services is “Rabaul Pilot.” Communication is facilitated on VHF Channels 16 & 12. Vessels are requested to report essential details including the Last Port of Call, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Draft, Air Draft, and Boarding Arrangement during the communication process.
